Cielo Rooftop Bar

Crackers and breads and dips OH MY. That’s Cielo Rooftop food and drinks.

Can you believe – this was the 50th bar in my adventures – and the 4th with Matt. It was our monthiversary and (in terms my mother will understand) we had decided to GO STEADY. Yes. we were boyfriend & girlfriend official.

I made a reservation for the two of us *Friday 27th May 2022* thru the website, that gave me 2 choices: TERRACE or SKYLINE seating? Being a rooftop bar I thought: Skyline – which promised views of “Brisbane and the Story Bridge”.

But no (trust me). The correct answer is TERRACE. You want the Terrace seating.

We met out front of the La Costa building and took the elevator to the rooftop – level 6 – the doors open to a lively atmosphere, a bustling nightlife scene with beautiful lighting and an IMPRESSIVE bar (that’s the Terrace).

We were ushered over to the pre-booked Skyline seating – a balcony of booths with loud speakers.

There were no Story Bridge views because hey, it was pitch black at 8pm.

We ordered the prawn cocktail, and a trio of dips. My bottle of wine came out with the cork still in, so I popped to the bar to get it opened. Then realised we needed cutlery for the salad bits, so Matt went up and got forks.

Baba ganoush, beetroot and tzatziki dips with breads and crackers. A prawn cocktail with salads.

I reckon the QR codes saved NO time and just created hassles trying to scan them in the dark. Good thing the foods were yummy and there was plenty for two people. We then spent our time seeing what we could see in the valley – and were entertained by a local possum that found its way to a tree near our table.

Hey there fella

But, all distractions aside, it was a lovely night to be out, and even tho it was super dark – Matt helped me take photos by using his phone torch as extra lighting. I really dig that guy.

Next time – book the TERRACE.
