Sasquatch

Sooo ever been driving through Chermside and wondered what Sasquatch Bar is all about? Yeaa, I got u.

Straight up: walk into this bar and they’re gonna treat you like fam. It was SUPER vibing one Friday afternoon when Matt and I walked in – unannounced and unbooked.

Saw most tables were reserved, so happy to sit under the taps menu and read it like a couple of thirsty sasquatches (Lol?)

It’s an easy pick for me: the Fick Brewing Red IPA PLEASE and thank you. This one’s a malty craft beer with FLAVOUR and it’s made in the next suburb over (Northgate).

Scan the menu and I’m gonna get the pork belly bites – and WHAT are these things – ONION TINGS – is that a typo? (who am i to talk)

I’ve never seen this on a menu before -> plus it’s Vegetarian, Gluten Free and Plant Based. this is the most WOKE snack i’ve ever seen, and i’m gonna regret not ordering it. So, 1 Onion Tings, please.

THIS arrived and OMG these are my new favourite TINGS. it was FREAkING DELICIOUS> drizzled in maple syrup and kewpie mayo. Best thing all day.

Matt got a Japanese chicken pizza (with chili jam and kewpie) also VERY YUM.

Spot a giant wolf of a Blackflag MURAL on a wall (which I like LIKE a LOT)

Before we left we had a good chat to the bartenders and how we’re visiting FICK next weekend, and Chef CHICK super liked my Boba Fett earring (thank you for noticing and yes I only wore one that night).

Couldn’t have asked for a friendlier bunch to look after us and it was the first time someone had recognised “Chick Walks Into a Bar” (thank you bar dude). Way cool.

Soooo quit wondering what Sasquatch bar is all about and POP IN.
