Like I said, I was on a roll, and Lord Alfred’s was on the way home from work.
Bar #12 of the challenge. Just wanted to pop in and see the latest renovations. This place has progressed through several makeovers, and once upon a time it was called Hotel LA. I’m sure it has a richer history than that, I just don’t ever recall it being glamorous.. So naturally I was curious, wtf is happening in there.
I’m always nervous walking into a new pub, which way do the doors swing open, and where am I going to sit? The room was pretty divided in two – all the front tables were taken by young loud people, and the back of the room being dark corners for nigels to nurse their drinks.
So I wandered to the no friends section and put my one Pimms & dry on the table for 6, and took my photos. Two photos.
One this way showing the pretty wine cellar wall.
And one that way, with a view of the pool table and telly
Upstairs was closed due to no functions being on, otherwise I would’ve loved to sit on the balcony overlooking Caxton Street.
Things to remember: the outside doors were PUSH to open
Other things: bars are better with friends
