X bars are Xtremely rare (wholesome ones anyway) Thankfully X-Cargo was around, and still relatively new to the Valley – much like the clientele..
Just young people EVERYWHERE. Not knowing how to queue properly and vaping about the entrance.. I snaked my way through wonky entry lines and found a spot at the bar.
Crowded standing room only + fake grass floors = watching your drinks spill and girls tripping in high heels. The whole venue is a twisty turny stairs of a place, between stacked old shipping containers. It’s all quite pretty when the fairy lights get going, but would hate to be there on a rainy night.
My mates Andrew and Andrew were along for a Saturday night out, we took our cocktails and beer to higher ground and got a few photos.
(Left to right: Scotch cocktail, espresso martini and a beery beverage).
The bartenders were lovely and chatty, so I didn’t mind when coffee syrups got spilt my way. The music was great, the dancefloor was packed and I didn’t trip on that astro turf. WINNING.
Probably wouldn’t recommend X-Cargo to anyone over the age of 25, but that doesn’t matter now it’s been re-branded as Summa House (A fresh coat of paint has made it so).
I was 2 bars away from completing my A to Z of Brisbane bars challenge, Christmas was coming, and still time to find more friends named Andrew..
