Arbory Afloat

AND so it BEGAN, my first A bar in Melbourne.

Armed with a voucher from my mate ANDREW, and assisted by a DELIGHTFUL Saturday AFTERNOON: it was time to find Arbory Afloat!

As the name suggests: it’s a FLOATING BAR, on the YARRA River!

It was a lovely May DAY, so Melburnians were OUT enjoying the SUN>

There was plenty of tables & chairs with views of the city & river – and LOUNGES around the perimeter creating a laid-back VIBE.

Up at the BAR, I spied a VERY colourful display –

If SPRITZES and cocktails ON TAP are your thing – this bar is for you>

COCKTAILS can be ordered singular or by the carafe – so naturally I ordered a carafe of the Agua De Jamaica – Hibiscus Iced Tea – with Rooster Rojo tequila, iced tea and a WEDGE of lime!

It was a bit heavy on the ice, but refreshing and visually appealing.

TO SNACK ON – a mix of Mexican yummies on a tasting platter: CORN CHIPS, buttermilk sour cream, oysters, salmon ceviche, kingfish ceviche, guacamole and chicken quesadillas.

All those snacks, while DJs spun cool tracks, watching boats and PADDLE boats go by along the YARRA. It was a lovely afternoon.

Arbory Afloat earns a solid 4 chicks. It’s a great spot for unique drinks and a lively scene, but the loud, touristy crowd may not be for everyone.
