Being the second bar on my challenge bucket list, and finally the weekend, it was time for beers at Bloodhound. There were plenty of bar stools to choose from when I walked in, so I picked one, even though *blah blah* (the local) later came in and cried I was sitting in ‘his spot’ (Na mate)
Chatty bartender (pictured here) poured the first deliciousness – a Bentspoke Gatekeeper porter 5.2% (also pictured. and it was nice, REAL nice) Second beer was a Bridge Road B2 Bomber, Imperial Black IPA (look it up). At 9.3% also made it quite dangerous. Luckily I was going out dancing and could work off the beeriness.
It was quite a large venue, with an upstairs I didn’t have time/guts to check out. There was enough cool kitsch stuff on the walls to look at downstairs here. The food menu looked good, but eaters were cheaters that day.
Things I liked: sitting up at a real bar, chatting to bartenders, pretending I knew stuff about beers
Things I didn’t like: having to leave
Overall: Great variety of beers, go solo but make friends, sit wherever you like.
