Carwyn Cellars

CAN’T complain when I move to Melbourne and it’s CHILLY, right? It was a Wednesday in the middle of WINTER and I caught a tram and a train to Thornbury for Carwyn Cellars, let’s go!

Literally here’s me WALKING IN>

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Wow, LOVE a bottleshop that organises it’s BEERS according to HOPS. I’m sure I’m not the only BEER LOVER who appreciates this!

Also looking for WHERE is the BAR?

Am told “SORRY, the BAR isn’t open til 3pm” (it was 2pm)

“But you can drink outside til it opens?”

OK!

I grabbed a can of Hawkers Hazy Pale (paid some corkage) and “would you like a glass with that?”

I would LOVE a glass, thankyou –

ALSO – is it OK if I film? Take pics for my blog?

“Sure! Film what you like”

Thank you,

I ventured OUTSIDE: where it was 14 degrees. and it actually wasn’t that bad.

I had the jacket and the little jumper (after living in Brisbane for 30 years, the cold is still a novelty tbh).

I rolled the can, poured the can, tipped the can over.

Can always find ways to amuse myself until –

3pm ticked over.

“Bars open” thanks!

THIS BAR – had a MASSIVE beer menu on the wall – 24 taps worth!

Followed my Hawkers with ANOTHER Hawkers – a schooner of the Brown Ale please, “Retro Vision” 6%

There were no seats at the bar, so took my brown ale to the dining area..

and enjoyed my BEERY afternoon!

It was pretty quiet, even sitting next to an arcade game. But I’m super glad I dropped in – the selection at Carwyn is phenomenal.

Did some BEER shopping on the way out: 6 x singles gets you a 15% discount. (and that includes wine and cider)

They DO NOT do paper receipts. only TEXT or EMAIL. I chose email.

Worth it just for the deal.

Kinda wish they had more INFO on the bar opening times before I rocked up tho.
