Hope & Anchor

How many BARS you been to lately for BREAKFAST? I’m always trying to mix it up a bit, SO when I saw WAFFLES on the MENU: it got me back to Hope & Anchor (for the second time).

My first visit was a dinner & drinks (I regrettably didn’t get any photos) But on this day – a beautiful Sunday morning in Paddington – Matt and I were fanging for those Chef’s Waffles.

It’s a BUSTLING little bar! Even at 11am-ish when we went in.

The barista at the entry was PUMPING out coffees. Dude. While the bar was serving PINTS of beer. Fantastic.

Grabbed some menus and – it is BUSY. Barista suggested: “You can sit upstairs?” Great!

Walked past people sitting at the bar. Croissants on counter. Cool.

Up to Level 2. Nice view.

To a NAUTICAL themed room – with booths to sit at, among artwork of ships, maps and animals on the walls. Cute!

Matt and I had two menus – with TWO different “Chef’s Waffles of the Week”.

They would either have BERRIES – or – PINEAPPLE. Would’ve been happy with either, and it just so happened this week: was the week for pineapples.

The waffles were fluffy! And came with caramelised pineapple, lime syrup and passionfruit sorbet. oh yeah I know what you’re thinking: WOW that’s TART!

They. Sure. Were.

Needed that coffee to cleanse the palette.

A lovely meal though – bonus was the STURDY cutlery.

GREAT service at this place, and OMG the beer garden was CHOCKERS. It’s clearly the place to be on Given Terrace.

Very cool. 4.5 chicks out of 5.
