I heard there was a cool new bar in town – all painted to look like a drawing and I thought: I go to bars.. I should check this out. Illusion bar.
With no official website – I found random directions online, from an article stating it was “tucked away off Winn Lane in Ann St“. Which should be read as: ON ANN STREET. It has prime street frontage on a main road, it’s not tucked away anywhere.
Indeed, when I stepped inside to see what’s what – EVERYTHING is painted a CRISP WHITE and made to look like a 2D drawing. From the piani to the stair case, the clock and the chairs.
I had my choice of sitting places, so i chose right next to the bar. My view was that and a wall of plates, but fancy plates.
After I was done admiring the plates, and the paint and the time it took to paint the plates: I went to order a drink at the bar.
OH it’s table service. Didn’t know that (but now you do).

and went back to sit with the plates.. watched my drink being made and listened to the music: lots of DISCO and it’s loud and heavy on the female classics (Kylie, Madonna, Cher).
I took a bunch of photos and a video for the gram (owner checking every time that I will tag the bar, tag the bar). Yes, i did, i tagged and followed..
It certainly was an illusion and i’m glad I popped in, and one drink was enough.
