Keen to see some bands at King Lear’s Throne and find out if there really is a throne at this bar… or a king.
So I walked up to the palace, guarded by security (um) guards, and answered three riddles to get in (just kidding, I showed them my ID, doy) and went right in.
First up I noticed all the hats everywhere, hard not to, I mean SO MANY HATS – caps, sun visors.. a sombrero!
All hanging from the roof in a distracting and decorative array.
I started asking WHY questions at the bartender who told me “I don’t actually work here, I just drink here and they asked me to fill in” Sure.
No more questions, just music listening then. And scotch.
Fun fact – the toilet is one shared loo with stickers all over it.
And there’s no mirror. Quirky bars be quirky!
