Lulie Tavern

Love it, even if I don’t know what a LULIE is!

After a HOT TIP from a certain Brisbane TV presenter (you know who you are ๐Ÿ‘€), I was pointed in the direction of Lulie Tavern โ€“

A perfect opportunity to get out of Melbourne CITY and over to Abbotsford.

WHEN I saw the NEON SIGNS I was SOooo excited! Lulie Tavern – and Full Moon Fever ROOF TOP BAR (we’ll get to that later)

INSIDE the tavern is an eclectic mix of Australian and BOOZY Memorabilia: ala young Johnnie Farnham posters and old school Carlton BITTER ALE (!)

My FIRST beverage at Lulie’s, was a “Speccy Juice” IPA 3.5% by Bodriggy Brewing – brewed literally 75 metres away (I measured on the Google Maps)

I sat at the bar and took pics of the taps and enjoyed my beer. THEN ordered a Bodriggy PALE and a serving of the ONION RINGS which I asked to follow me upstairs (plz and thanks)

Wanted to check out the Roof Top Bar – Full Moon Fever!

What a GORGEOUS spot!

My onion ring SNACKS were delivered PRONTO, with “Special Lulie Sauce” – tasted YUM, like mayo and with little pickles innit.

AS I left – my sticker was being put on the fridge downstairs (Cheers & THANK YOU!!)

MY next visit – OK I didn’t get any pics that time..

BUT THE NEXT VISIT AFTER THAT – I got the onion rings AGAIN and (checked my sticker was still on the fridge – yep) and confirmed my case: THE BEST onion rings in Melbourne.

there I said it.

That night I cheersed with a KIRIN “Hyoketsu”, which was LEMON flavoured vodka in a PINT glass (even if it looks just like water: TRUST ME, it was VODKA)

I left my mark on at least one bathroom door and a random tub of utensils

LIKE it? I LULIE LOVE IT!
