Parched

Pretty much! I was parched. After catching two buses to get to Parched Brewery, in the pocket of Brisbane that is West End. Greg also did a two-bus trip to get there, and we just happened to cross paths mid-transfer at the Cultural Centre..

Then walked down Montague Road til signs appeared.. LOTS of signs. I love a bar with good signage. Honestly I’m crap with Google Maps and skeptical of it’s accuracy, so totally appreciate clear directions – AND – unless you’re looking for it, (or the West End laser clinic), Parched is behind a gym, and up some stairs..

For a Wednesday afternoon, it was NICELY busy inside. Still got a seat by a window and really liked that all the tables were covered in beer menus:

“BEER BIBLE” (and other drinks)”

I knew straight away – this bar and I were going to be friends.

First beer was this guy: Creaming Soda Vanilla Milkshake IPA – and OMG, it’s YUM

If I didn’t have a drinking buddy I could’ve read that clipboard document all day, oh the floral notes and lingering mouth feels..

Second beers were two of The Old Enemy: Old English IPAs.

By the third schooners we tried a “The Pilot” mid-strength IPAs. Didn’t even get photos of those, it was time to order chicken wings and get food happening.

My favourite was the first guy! Who doesn’t love a vanilla milkshake beverage.

All up: I had a great time at Parched, trying all the beers and reading the things. The sooner that bridge from Toowong to West End is built, the sooner I can walk over at my leisure.
