Question 1: How do I get to the ROOFTOP Bar?
Once inside the QT Hotel’s grand doors, there’s a fancy reception area – BUT you need to take the lift to Level 11 to get to the bar..
AND for that, you’ll need a FOB (or access to a FOB)
So far, two methods have worked for me:
A) Quietly walk into the lift, question nothing, and queue your luck until a kind resident swipes you up
OR
B) Quasi-wander the foyer until you catch the eye of security, who will kindly swipe you up

When you walk out onto the terrace, it’s worth it — quintessential Melbourne city views.
QUITE a well-stocked bar, I ordered a whisky sour on my first visit.
The bartender did some impressive bottle work, though his cash register skills could use a bit more finesse.
I took my cocktail to a high bar and looked out over the city, soaking up the sun, while admiring the three garnishes that made the drink feel extra special.
At around $25 a cocktail, it’s pricey but worth it.
On another visit, I found myself sitting at the bar, enjoying a delicious Pimms cocktail while quietly watching the behind-the-scenes dance of bartenders and customers.
The rooftop itself feels pretty and polished, quality seating with quirky nooks inside and open-air perches outside.
Quietly luxurious vibe that makes the quest to get up here totally justified.
