OKAY, The Outpost. I tried to avoid places that start with a THE, in my reverse alphabetical bars challenge, just to make the challenge more CHALLENGY, but caved when saw this cool show advertised, at about the right alphabetical time: The Jensens were playing the soundtrack to the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Hell yeah. O bar.
One ticket please! Saturday 19 March 2022. Didn’t know who The Jensens were but they were from Brisbane too so YES, let’s go get a new bar experience and a show.
Walked up the hill that is Warner Lane, Fortitude Valley, past a very VERY loud Kickons, (an open cage of a bar with kids echoing noise) to get to the Outpost. Past the guards of guarding, up the stairs to the door list lady who tells me: “There’s only 21 people inside”
Great! Well, now it’s 22!
Chuffed at my witty quip, did a lap of the dancefloor and to find where the drinks at.
OK it was a smidge empty, so hey, more bar for me. Go a whiskey & dry and (no seats at the bar) HOVER at the ‘water cooler’ end..
Nice view of the bar and stage, did a little filming. The Jensens did a bang up job, belting out the catalogue of songs from the movies, and I braved it a little closer for some photos.
Oh sometimes I’m wary of bars in music venues, but this one was top notch. No yelling ridiculously, and the bathrooms were NICE.
