The VIEW on a Sunday afternoon from The Village IN the Village (Nundah Village) – ain’t cliché at all. The Village Social bar is a front row seat to this cool suburb in Brisbane.
It’s a chill VIBE in Nundah – leafy and green and let’s face it: when guitary sounds are coming from the bar – i’m gonna wanna look inside. This was a day when Matt and I had no plans about, so hell YEA- let’s go to the bar.
The locals were swarming already, all the front bar stools were taken, as we wandered up to see what’s on tap –
8 taps for fresh tipples that day, mostly pales, but a wheat beer and a cider too.
We started on the pales – a delicious Young Henry’s Newtowner. IF craft beer’s not your thing – there’s scotches and Pimms and wines and gin.
Spied a good few Queensland beer tins in the fridge: Brewdog, Green Beacon, Your Mates, Balter. (Yum).
The MUSIC – the Village can handle LIVE music out front (where we sat) or on the stage down back, but ALWAYS “Good can still chat” volume.
They have karaoke nights, they have theme nights, you can watch football there.
I love walking past and peering in to see who’s jamming – usually Lee Griffin and that’s OK with me.
If you’re lucky enough you might star in one of their live streamed Facebook videos. They haven’t caught me yet, for now I’ll settle for a selfie with Matt –
VERY cool place for music listening or people watching, GREAT bar.
5 out of 5 chicks from me.
