This was Tipplers Tap on a Sunday evening. Bar #20 in the challenge. I’d made it from A to T, on the home stretch to Z.
There’s a small group of people out front, and a couple inside, but for 6pm it looks like it’s closing up for the night. Today’s tap list has already been wiped off the blackboard..

But that’s ok, because behind the bar is the fanciest beer menu I’ve ever seen – on a digital TV screen. The bartender chick was full of good knowledge on the two beers I was interested in – the first was a ‘lamington’ flavoured stout, which tasted so much like coconut I chose a glass of porter without even trying it first.

It was so dark it blended into the mini blackboard sign, but you get the idea, yummy dark beer in a pretty tulip glass (fancy schooner size).
This was by far the trendiest beer bar on James Street, and I only found it because I was looking for T bars. It’s neat and tidy, has good music and well, the kind of bar you’d take your mum to.
3 and a HALF chicks
UPDATE – 2023, Tippler’s Tap Fortitude Valley moved to South Bank, South Brisbane.
