Um, I went cuz it was the next bar on my list, I went cuz it was 2 for 1 pasta night.. OK I went to Uh-Oh’s for the Simpsons reference (what else) If you don’t get it, then we can’t be friends.
It was a Wednesday night in February and not too busy at all. I asked if I could sit at the bar – please? They don’t get that request often, but yes I was allowed. Plus I like making use of barstools at the bar.. and I had a great view of Ann Street!
I was waiting for my mate Alison to come join me in the cheap pastaness, so I asked to browse the wine list –
is there a wine list?
Actually no.
They don’t have/won’t have an official wine list as they share what’s good from Bakery Lane, next door.
sure, why not
On this particular evening there was a choice of two white wines, either was $13 a glass or $35 a bottle. So I chose the bottle with the best looking label – one Screaming Betty, please.
We drank a fair bit, waiting for our meals to come out, but it went great with my pappardelle and Alison’s rigatoni.
And if you’re lucky enough to be there when a DJ is playing, you get cool music with your foods.
